Phoenix Players, Tubbercurry present ‘The Wood of the Whispering’ (Confined)

Tonight’s production is ‘The Wood of The Whispering’ by the Phoenix Players of Tubercurry. The loss of traditional rural values in the West of Ireland is central to this play. Emigration has led to a decline in marriage and children. Those left there totter in to old age. But Sanbatch Daly, a descendant of the derelict Big House is determined to reverse the problem of rural decline. Curtain at 8.15.

Ballyshannon Drama Festival Opening March 8th: ‘Frankenstein’ (Open)

The 62nd Ballyshannon Drama Festival opens on Saturday, March 8th with the Newpoint Players production of ‘Frankenstein‘, Sean Treanor’s adaptation of the Mary Shelley classic, in the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon (this is of particular significance to Ballyshannon as Mary Shelley’s grandmother, Elizabeth Dixon, lived on Main Street). Curtain is strictly 8.15pm . Tickets will be on sale at the box office. Season tickets can be collected from a separate stand in the lobby.

The Abbey Centre is open today and tomorrow between 2 and 4 for ticket sales. Season tickets are €60 per person, which is excellent value as this gives you access to all 9 night. Season tickets can be collected in The Abbey Centre during the festival. Tickets will also be available on the door each night.
