‘Old Times’ is going to the All Ireland Final in Athlone!

Screen Shot 2016-03-25 at 11.56.40‘Old Times’ is going to Athlone! After 8 shows in 8 different festivals, we have secured our place in the All Ireland Final, but before that we are looking forward to returning home to the Abbey Arts Centre for another performance in late April.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the last 5 months, from our very uncertain beginnings (we initially thought we wouldn’t go out on the circuit at all this year) to now.

We are a community amateur drama group, and we could not achieve anything without the help and encouragement of you, the local and wider community: the audience members, the well-wishers, the costumiers, the furniture suppliers, the theatre staff, the critics, the fireside-adjudicators, the facebook-sharers…everyone!

Here is a list of the awards we received in the last 5 weeks:

  • 4 First Place Wins
  • 3 Second Places
  • 1 Third Place
  • Best Performer in Festival for Rachel O’Connor as ‘Kate”, and
  • Best Actress for Rachel O’Connor as ‘Kate’
  • 4 Best Actor Awards for Richard Hurst as ‘Deeley’
  • 3 Best Actress Awards for Trish Keane as ‘Anna’
  • 4 Best Director Awards
  • 2 Best Set Awards for John Travers
  • 4 Nominations for Best Lighting/Technical for Mark Fearon
  • 1 Best Décor Award

A full breakdown of results and nominations per festival can be found on the ‘Old Times’ page.

The draw to decide which night we perform in the All Ireland Final will be held on April 10th. Following that, we will be able to confirm the dates of the home shows in the Abbey.

See you there!
