Ballyshannon Shatter Myth in Athlone

Report on Dr. Russell Boyce’s adjudication taken from dramafestival.ie: There’s a myth that Neil Simon’s plays don’t work on this side of the Atlantic. But All Ireland Drama Festival adjudicator Russell Boyce said it was nice to see how Ballyshannon Drama Society’s production of “The Gingerbread Lady” shattered that myth. Third Place in Shercock

‘The Gingerbread Lady’ came third in the Shercock Drama Festival, with a Most Promising Award for Sinead Luke as Polly Landau and two adjudicator’s awards, one for Lighting and one for Conor Beattie. This result continues the team’s successful run of being placed in every festival. The week ahead sees the production travelling to Strabane on Tuesday and Carrickmore on Wednesday, with results of the remaining three festivals (including Glenamaddy) due in by Saturday 28th March.
