‘All My Sons’ Update

It’s hard to believe that only five weeks have passed since ‘All My Sons’ premiered in the Abbey Arts Centre. Since then the show has participated in eight festivals on the All Ireland Amateur Drama circuit, winning multiple awards along the way. Cast and crew have travelled to five counties in the last few weeks to build the set and put on unforgettable performances (four shows in five nights in the first week!) and all the effort has paid off. With 1 First Place, 5 Seconds and 2 Thirds, we have secured our entry in both the Ulster Final in Ballymena and the All Ireland Final in Athlone. There are only 4 days to go until the opening and closing performances of ‘All My Sons’ in Ballyshannon! Here we have a few shots from an early dress rehearsal, set in the backyard of Joe and Kate Keller’s home, where the story unfolds over the course of one dramatic day. We are delighted to announce that there will be two performances of Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons’ on Sunday, March 6th, in the Abbey Arts Centre, Ballyshannon, at 4pm and 8.30 pm. UPDATE: This week’s performances of ‘All My Sons’ have been cancelled. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it is with great regret that we have decided to cancel all scheduled performances of ‘All My Sons’ in the Abbey Arts Centre. The dates affected are as follows: Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th, Friday 18th, Saturday 18th, Sunday 19th 3pm and 8pm. We apologies to all our drama fans for the inconvenience. ‘ALL MY SONS’ Rescheduled Dates: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the performances of ‘All My Sons’ scheduled for Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th have been postponed. Our new performance dates are: – Saturday 19th at 8pm – Sunday 20th Matinee at 3pm – Sunday 20th at 8pm. Ballyshannon Drama Society are delighted to return to the Abbey Arts Centre stage with our latest production, Arthur Miller’s ‘All My Sons’, from February 16th to 19th, at 8pm nightly Rehearsals have been underway for months at this stage, in line with government health guidelines, which have thankfully been lifted just in time for opening night a few weeks from now. An Evening of Drama & Comedy, Oct. 7-8 2021

Join us on October 7th and 8th for our return to the stage with two one act plays, ‘Faint Voice’ by John Mc Kenna and ‘The Specialist’ by Charles Sale. ‘Faint Voices’ portrays the doomed relationship between the WW1 soldier-poet Francis Ledwidge and his lover Ellie Vaughey, and the impact of his death on family and friends. Ledwidge, known as the ‘Poet of the Blackbird’, was born near Slane,  and served in the British Army. He was killed in the Battle of Ypres in 1917.
