The 62nd Ballyshannon Drama Festival opens on Saturday, March 8th with the Newpoint Players production of ‘Frankenstein‘, Sean Treanor’s adaptation of the Mary Shelley classic, in the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon (this is of particular significance to Ballyshannon as Mary Shelley’s grandmother, Elizabeth Dixon, lived on Main Street). Curtain is strictly 8.15pm . Tickets will be on sale at the box office. Season tickets can be collected from a separate stand in the lobby.

The Abbey Centre is open today and tomorrow between 2 and 4 for ticket sales. Season tickets are €60 per person, which is excellent value as this gives you access to all 9 night. Season tickets can be collected in The Abbey Centre during the festival. Tickets will also be available on the door each night.

Meeting, Wednesday 05 March
There will be a meeting of the Ballyshannon Drama Society at 7.30pm in The Abbey Centre this evening, Wed. March 5th, to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Drama Festival.
‘Gingerbread’ in Kiltyclogher
The Ballyshannon Drama Society will present ‘The Gingerbread Lady’ in the Community Centre, Kiltyclogher, Co. Leitrim, tonight at 8pm as part of the Kiltyclogher Drama Festival. This will be their third performance on the festival circuit this year, following shows in Newtonstewart and Castleblaney.
‘Gingerbread Lady’ takes 3rd in Newtonstewart
Congratulations to cast and crew of ‘The Gingerbread Lady’ on taking 3rd place in the Newtonstewart Drama Festival. The play also received nominations for Best Costume, Best Supporting Actor for Richard Hurst, Best Actress for Rachel O’Connor and Best Director for Ann Mc Hugh. A third place win gives the group two points in the overall national competition.
