Final Two Shows!

Don’t miss your chance to see the award-winning production of Neil Simon’s darkly comic ‘The Gingerbread Lady’ by the Ballyshannon Drama Society tonight and tomorrow night in the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon. Curtain tonight is at 8pm. Tickets will be available at the door.   Gala Evening sponsored by The Sandhouse Hotel and Ballyshannon Town Council Tomorrow night will be a special gala evening in the Abbey Centre sponsored by the Sandhouse Hotel and the Ballyshannon Town Council. The Sandhouse will provide wine and light buffet in the Abbey Centre at 7.30. Tickets are €20 and are available from the box office tomorrow afternoon and at the door tomorrow night.

‘The Gingerbread Lady’ on John Murray & Nationwide, Wednesday 29th April

Tune into the John Murray Show on RTÉ Radio 1 tomorrow morning at 9 to hear an interview with director Ann Mc Hugh and a profile of the cast and crew of ‘The Gingerbread Lady’ and the Ballyshannon Drama Society. John Murray is the RTÉ Mentor to Ballyshannon Drama as they prepare for their performance in the All-Ireland Final in Athlone on Friday night. If that’s not enough ‘Gingerbread’ for you, check out Nationwide at 7pm on RTÉ 1 tomorrow (Wed April 29th) for  a special feature on ‘The Gingerbread Lady’. The Nationwide team visited Ballyshannon recently to attend a meeting of the drama society and a rehearsal of the play.

‘The Gingerbread Lady’ Gala Evening

The final performance of ‘The Gingerbread Lady’ in Ballyshannon on Wednesday April 30th will be a special gala evening to raise funds for the production. There will be a pre-show reception and buffet in the Abbey Centre at 7.30, sponsored by Ballyshannnon Town Council and The Sandhouse Hotel.  This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to show their support for the cast and crew of ‘The Gingerbread Lady’ prior to their performance in the RTÉ  All Ireland Final two nights later. Tickets cost €20 and are available from the Abbey Centre box office. The show will begin at 8.30.

Third Place in Shercock

‘The Gingerbread Lady’ came third in the Shercock Drama Festival, with a Most Promising Award for Sinead Luke as Polly Landau and two adjudicator’s awards, one for Lighting and one for Conor Beattie. This result continues the team’s successful run of being placed in every festival. The week ahead sees the production travelling to Strabane on Tuesday and Carrickmore on Wednesday, with results of the remaining three festivals (including Glenamaddy) due in by Saturday 28th March.
